"Primped" A Pumpkin

The other day on my Facebook fan page, I posted that I discovered I am not very crafty. I hope, that in time, with lots of practice, I will get MUCH better at this. Debbiedoo's, Fox Hollow Cottage and Mom 4 Real are hosting this Primp Your Pumpkin party. I was dang excited when this was announced...then I learned I am not crafty. (Sigh) I made an attempt and failed miserably. To salvage what I could, and in need of a table Fall centerpiece, I opted to "primp" my table with a pumpkin. Well, just take a look...here's my pumpkin in all her naked glory.

I have this serving tray that was crammed up in the cupboard because I really never use it, so I gave it purpose tonight! Yes, that is my reflection.

I want a table centerpiece, but I also need to be able to move it easily and then place it back on the table easily. This tray gives me that ability. I took some burlap and just placed a square piece on top of the tray. I am so loving burlap right now.

Then placed the pumpkin off to the side and the back of the tray, then added my cute little bird house, some flameless votive candles, and some decorative Fall accents. I tied a bow around the stem of the pumpkin and cut the loops to give her a pretty "hat".

I also added Fall leaves to my chandelier to bring the entire tablescape together.

Well, I told you I wasn't crafty, but what do you think? I love Fall, don't you?

Thank you for stopping by! Please come again!

  1. I totally love it. You don't know how much I appreciate someone else that isn't all that crafty. I tried some cloth pumpkins,(my next post) and they are really sad. Everyone seems to be able to whip this stuff up in a flash and it looks magnificent. I did paint some pumpkins, that seemed like a no brainer. I love your vignette. I host Table Top Tuesday every week and it is for any kind of vignette on any surface you can dream up to put one on. I would love for you to join us. Hugs, MARTY
