More from Tammie and Ted

As promised in last week's Weekend Inspiration (Tammie and Ted's Kitchen/Dining Room), I will be showing you the changes they made to their bathrooms (2) and office space. Let's start with the bathrooms, shall we?

Ted told Tammie NO TILE because with tile it’s very easy for mold and mildew to show up, especially in an older home and out in the country. They were able to use marble sheets that look like tile. Each wall is one full sheet from top to bottom with a decorative stripe towards the top which matches the sink counter top. It’s much less expensive than tile but does take two weeks to make.

Tammie and Ted seem to have a knack for this remodeling thing, don't you think? I love their choice of colors.

Now on to the office: Tammie needed to maximize the workspace in her office without making the room cramped. They used commercial workstations and attached them to the wall by wall tracking. It’s the same concept as a closest that has a track screwed in with the shelf attached to the track. Tammie was concerned that there would be too much weight on the floor if she used cubicle panels, but knew from the contractor the house is built like a tank, so they wall tracked and hung the workstations and used pedestal and lateral support pedestals to hold the workstations up. There is more room than if they had used regular desks. It’s strong enough that she could stand on it, and jump up and down. This is not something most people would use, but Tammie worked for a company last year that manufactures system furniture. It's certainly something to keep in mind….system furniture will always take up less room than standard furniture. They could have put in a third workstation (if they had needed it) and still would have had plenty of room.

Office
Tammie only showed one workstation in the picture because she thought Ted's desk was a little too messy. :P You still get a feel for how this maximized the space in their office. Nice job! You may have a new career on your hands! Thanks for sharing your projects with my readers, Tammie and Ted!
