My Square Wreath

Last week I posted wreath inspiration with all different types of wreaths. The first one listed was the inspiration for the square wreath I am sharing with you today. I had so much fun making this. I love snowflakes (as you can see), especially shimmery, glittery ones. Let's take a look!

I started with a frame, but not your traditional frame. I found this one in the dumpster at the furniture store I work part-time at.

I have so many items from my dumpster diving I still need to do something with, but this one I had a plan for. I covered the frame in burlap. I love the texture it provides and well, I am a little obsessed with burlap these days.

I then made a trip to the dollar store and our local craft store. I wanted to spell out a word, I wanted snowflakes, I wanted a Santa, I wanted ornaments hanging in the center, and I wanted whites to be my main color scheme. I found them all! The letters I found at the craft store, the center ornaments at Goodwill, I had the burlap and ribbon on hand, and the rest from the dollar store. As you can figure, this didn't cost me a whole lot.

I took my time arranging the items and rearranging the items to get them just the way I wanted them. Santa was about the only one that stayed in his original spot. I had some red paint from Martha Stewart and decided it was the perfect color for the letters spelling out "Joy" since there is a touch of the same red on Santa's hat. After figuring out where I was going to put everything, I hot glued them all in place. I tied a bow, just like I would tie my shoes, and placed it at the top and wrapped the excess around the frame for some dimension. I'm going to stop talking now and just show you the pictures.

My son acted as my assistant so I could get some pics of the entire thing. It is pretty big!

And there you have it! My take on a square wreath. I'm thinking I will hang this in my office at work to enjoy. What do you think? Have you made a square wreath before?

Thank you for stopping by! Please come again!
