I am Relocating!!

Soon, I will be relocating! I'm super excited about this but there is so much that goes with relocating. This isn't just moving across town. I'm moving to a different state. 6.5 hours away from where I live now. And even further away from family. I'm not going to lie. I'm excited...but a little scared, too.

My hubs already lives there so I need to catch up. My daughter graduates high school next year so I need to get through that first. But there is sooooooo much to do before the move takes place. I'm starting to freak a little.

I know, I know, you're all like "it's not until next year, why are you freaking already?" and "isn't it early to be doing all this now?" My answer is...

I have a graduation to plan and get through (and that sh*ts ruff people), I have 7 years of crap to go through in my house, I have a house to prepare to sell...and then sell it, I have to pack, I have to find a job, I have a son going to Italy for a month (over graduation no less) and then to move into his new place when he returns, I have a step-daughter graduating from college (possibly the same time as the daughter) which could also prompt a move for her, I have to move my daughter to college (wherever that will be!), I have to find a new place to live (hubs is renting right now and we want a house once I'm there) NO, it isn't too early and time flies people!

I know I will get through this just fine...because my hubs is awesome and he will see that I do. We have a realtor coming to the house in a few weeks to do a walk-through and let us know what has to be done for selling. We have limited weekends to accomplish whatever the realtor thinks needs to be done since Kevin is 6.5 hours away and only here a limited amount of time.

To torture myself even more I find myself wandering over to the Zillow site and looking at houses. It's just fun to dream I guess. When looking at homes on Zillow (no, I'm not paid to advertise Zillow, I just like the site), I find myself being rather critical of kitchens and bathrooms. I don't mind a fixer-upper, I just don't want to do any major renovations. We also don't want to move again. We want this home to be our forever home.

What did/do you look for in a home? What is something you couldn't live without? What is your favorite room?

Thank you for stopping by! Please come again!

  1. Oh my goodness - I thought what I have been trying to get through was stressful! I hope it all comes together for you.
We are house hunting after years of stress and upheaval including a serious car accident, separation, divorce and the death of my father. The housing climate here is awful - so overpriced for awful, small homes. We have a long list of needs and wants and a decent budget, so it's just a matter of being patient I guess. The kitchen and bathrooms are important to me and need to be move in ready at the top end of our budget or we are open to renovating as long as the home price and budget allows.

    1. Thank you Tracey. Life can be rather hectic (for all of us) at times, but staying positive and believing we can rock all this is half the battle! Sounds like you have had a lot to deal with as well. House hunting is extremely fun...but extremely stressful in itself. When we start adding all the other stuff in we have quite the concoction for one ball of nerves. Keep the faith, keep your chin up, and keep plugging along. You've got this!
